Whitsundays islands are a bunch of island of the coast from Airle Beach. They are quite lovely, and I'll say more about that in a sec.
We were 7 dudes, 9 gals, a skipper and a crewman on the boat called Tongarra. The weather throught was brilliant (a good compensation for Fraser Island) - absolutely no clouds in the sky. Additionally, I had been worried about being sea sick - but that fortunately was not a problem.
In general the whole experience was really nice, and the group of people was much better than Fraser Island. We also had a clown called Stevo...
A few words about the people. Among the girls there was one Israeli girl, whom Nir and I eventually dubbed "Gveret Timtemet" (for you non Hebrew speakers this means "Miss Stupid"). I believe that she is probably the most stupid person I've ever met! She was so dumb that she amused the hell out of us. One prime example of her stupidity was when she told people she "was afraid English might become her first language as she has been in Aussi for a few months". Well, normally this wouldn't be so dumb and funny, but in her case her English is so bad that it's comprable to Amir Peretz' English... There were a whole bunch of other examples, and when I have more time I might add some of those up here.
So here are some details:
Saturday: Got on the boat at 15:00. Most of the day was just sailing for several hours until we got to a place called Whitehaven Beach. Of course, it was dark so we couldn't see much until the next day. We spent the evening playing some drinking games (wasn't too exciting for me). Anyway, the English girl had a bit too much and threw up INSIDE the boat. It was quite spectacular...
Sunday: In the morning we went to Whitehaven beach which is probably the best beach I've ever seen with very fine white sand. After that we sailed to a small island where there we went on a small walk that ended up at a remarkably beautiful view point. Then we sailed a bit more and did some snorkeling, which was quite lovely, and would have been way bettter if I had brought my contact lenses...
Monday: We sailed to a resort island where we were only allowed on the beach. Apparently, they throw you in jail if you go deeper into the island. We also did some more snorkeling. Finally, we returned to Airle Beach at around 13:30.
