Nothing particular was going on on any of these days. Most days were pretty much the same with Lagoon during the day and clubbing during the night, although the club scene wasn't too great from Sunday on.
Nir left Wednesday to Sydney (and Canbera to get a new passport....).
Oh, got to see a cupleof movies:
Fantastic 4 - pretty decent
Ocean's 13 - better than Ocea's 12 (can any movie be worse than that?), but still not the greatest movie out there.

Friday, July 13: Cairns
We moved to another backpacker called "Serpent", which is better then the current "Beach (bitch) House". Anyway, met a couple of german girl and we all hung out at the lagoon for the better part of the day. The German's where most amusing as they fit perfectly the German stereotype for precision and careful planning.
The Rhino Bar has free dinner thing between 18:30 and 19:30, so we are now going there daily for what we call an appetizer..
We have this Canadian girl in the room, she's been with us in the same room in the previous hostel as well. So there we were eating a bit of Nutella right before going out. And of course, I couldn't help myself so I told Nir and Gilad (in English of course, so that canada understands) that Nutella is the greatest German invention since the gas chamber. She either didn't hear it, or pretended not to have heard it, so of course, I repeated it more loudly a second time...
As always, we went clubbing at night and I didn't get to go to bed until 4:30...

Thursday, July 12: Cairns
Woke up early in the morning to do the snorkeling and scuba diving. The experience was Aweful! Spekcifcially, the weather was shit - cloudy, windy, and partly rainy. Conseqeuntly, the boat (vessel, ship - whatever you call it) was rocking like crazy and I thought I made eye contact with the angel of death a couple of times (or was it the Vomit Fairy?).
The dive itself was pretty cool with some beautiful fish and coral. The snorkeling was alright, although due to the waves it was hard to be still. That was important as I was trying to take some photos with a water proof camera that we rented.
In the evening we went to a place called Rhinobar, which was packed. As always, we met some familiar faces from various places. Wasn't too exciting.

Wednesday, July 11: Cairns
Like many towns in Australia, Cairns, too, has something called "the lagoon". Basically, it's a stratch of grass with an artificial body of water. So off we went to the lagoon, which was quite nice.
Additionally, I decided not to pursue Vietnam as my next destination (which was my orignial plan). Instead I'll be focusing on Thailand next.
Other than that we resumed the massive cooking sessions that take forever to complete and leave you half dead.
No bar tonight since I need to wake up early tomorrow for snorkeling and an introductory scuba dive. Should be fun!

Tuesday, July 10: Cairns
Spent the bulk of the day trying to figure out where to fly next and how to get there. It appears there's a school holiday around here which makes flying not too cheap.
Other than that I met Laura (from the great ocean road) again on the street. It's quite funny how the same people keep popping up.
Oh, and important thing was going to see "The Transformers". It was pretty nice but I expected a little more I suppose. The evening ended with some bar hopping. I guess I'm back to "going to bed at 4:00am" schedule..

Monday, July 9: Mission Beach - Cairns
I spent the better part of the day still in Mission Beach as the bus to Cairns did not leave until 18:20. I finally got to play some chess! I played some Sweedish guy, and Israeli honor was preserved. In fact, I had a really nice 2-knight mate..
Other than that on the bus up to Cairns we met with Gilad again and the plan is for the three of us to hang out together in Cairns for a while. Then, I'll be going to South East Asia, Nir to Canbera/Sydney and Gilad to Melbourne.

Sunuday, July 8: Mission Beach
Today was Nir's Bday, so I had some 6 Irish gals surprise him with a "happy birthday" song right at breakfast. It was quite amusing.
Other than that I spent most of the day playing tabel tennis and at the beach and eating..
The highlight of the day was actually at 23:00 in the TV room, watching the Wimbeldon finals. Of course, I was the only viewer... Anyway, Federer got his 5th consecutive Wimbeldon title and has become the second person to have done so (Bjorn Borg being the other one..).
